Your Sage won’t turn on
A completely dead Sage is more often a fuse or the control board than anything serious. Many can be repaired without replacing the whole board.
What you can check yourself
- Try another socket, and check the plug is pushed all the way in.
- If the machine has been running for a long time, the thermal cut-out may have tripped. Switch it off and let it cool for 30–60 minutes.
- Does the machine trip the RCD (the residual current breaker) when you switch it on? Stop using it. That suggests water inside the machine.
- Check the cable for damage, kinks or scorch marks.
Tip: Unplug the machine before you clean it or take parts off. If it needs opening, leave that to us.
Typical causes when the checklist doesn’t help
Thermal fuse
A fuse inside the machine that has blown, typically after overheating or running dry.
Control board fault
The power supply or a component on the board has failed. Can often be repaired without a new board.
Switch or cable
The power button or the cable is faulty.
Water in the electronics
After a leak, water may have reached the electronics. Stop using it.

If the machine still won’t turn on after trying another socket and letting it cool, it needs opening and measuring. And if a repair isn’t worth it, we can often make you an offer for the machine instead.
